(Auction #113) Dec 5-6, 2015 CELEBRITY SLEUTH
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on:
Four color or sepia glossies of a nude or topless Jackson, including iconic 8"x10" color image of her infamous 'Wardrobe Malfunction' at the 2004 Super Bowl, signed by both Jackson AND co-conspirator Justin Timberlake. Janet joined Justin in claiming it was 'an accident. It was not my intention that it go as far as it did,' she insisted - which didn't explain why she was wearing a 'silver starburst nipple shield' that nearly obscured her areola. And she didn't disagree when Oprah Winfrey asked, 'Do you think that Justin Timberlake left you hanging out there?' (ahem). 'Certain things you just don't do to friends,' Jackson replied, and the two haven't spoken since the incident. All the more unique and remarkable, then, to secure BOTH their bold signatures on this classic artifact of contemporary cultural history! The signed sepia image shows the singer topless, with an unseen man's hands cupping her breasts ('they' belonged to then-lover Rene Elizondo and the image adorned the cover of 'Rolling Stone'). Just 2 months after 'Nipplegate,' she was spied sunbathing starkers in a Miami backyard garden - captured in these high-resolution candids!
